The end of British Summer Time

Some people say we should keep British Summer Time all year round.

If you are one of them, think about the question again on about 6 January. And ask yourself if you would really like it to be an hour darker and colder when you have to get up for work.

Groan! Silly talk on TV yesterday about somehow creating 'more daylight' by staying one hour ahead of GMT all year, or even 2 hours to align with continental Europe. Just change the working day if you want to be leaving school or work with more daylight ahead of you, and accept the morning problem. Q: Why do many middle-class Californians go to work early and be in the restaurant by 6 pm? A: Because they are 3 hours behind the east coast time zone.
