The problem with Tristram Hunt

Watching Sunday Politics I think I have put my finger on what worries me about Tristram Hunt.

He does not resemble a potential senior government minister so much as someone playing a government minister in an Oxbridge revue. Think Hugh Dennis's better looking younger brother.

Later. Now read this.

When I started teaching Margaret Thatcher was Ed Sec and looking at the list of those who followed her I think Tristram fits right in with the assorted slugs, non entities, carpet chewers, occasional human being and rare bright spark. As to our current chief, Michael Gove, whatever realm he inhabits and wishes us to follow him to, it clearly isn't 21st century Britain. Unfortunately Tristram problem seems to be that he has caught this terrible Gove's disease. systonhouse
