Read more about the project - the concrete weir you will see if you follow that link no longer exists.

Recently, there has been a lot of environmental management on Aylestone Meadows in Leicester, by council employees and volunteers. The council work (using big cutters) is necessary and many paths are wider than last year.

Last summer, the interregnum between school holiday and grown up annual leave was observed by kids throwing themselves into the River Biam. And that's fine. This year I will be parked on a tuft with my head in a book, with half an eye out for a woodpecker.

Thank you, Leicester City Council and especially thank you to volunteers.
